Class Description: Just in time for Mardi Gras, this fun class explores the rich Creole and spicy Cajun flavors of New Orleans cuisine. Our instructor will introduce you to traditional NOLA ingredients and techniques and show you how to create classics like gumbo and étouffée. You’ll enjoy working alongside fellow students as we practice everything from making a proper roux to perfectly cooking shellfish. Plus, we’ll share secrets for preparing the ultimate red beans and rice and walk you through the surprisingly simple steps for creating authentic pecan pralines.

What To Expect

**Special Note*****Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

Duration of Classes:2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above

Class Size You will work with other students in groups of 4

What to Wear: You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
