84th Street Pub – Food Safety Certification

In seeking just the right ambiance for the 84th Street Pub & Grille, Dan Pfeiffer and Bill Van Dyk visited pubs and sports bars around the area.

“We found good ideas and put the best ideas all in one,” said Pfeiffer, who owns the restaurant that opened Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8282 Pfeiffer Farms Drive.

Pfeiffer, a longtime auto dealer, and Van Dyk, former chief financial officer of Pfeiffer Automotive Group, said they aimed for a casual, family friendly pub with an affordable menu.

Menu highlights include hand-dipped onion rings and dill pickles, 19 beers on tap, pizzas, the whopping Burger 84 that can feed a family for $22.99, soups, sandwiches, wraps and desserts. The newly acquired liquor license allows for a full bar.

“I think the community is ready for a place like this,” Van Dyk said. “Hopefully, we’re just going to be a great neighborhood pub, where you will want to bring your wife as well as your buddy.”

Building renovations include a new green, gold, red and brown exterior, an outdoor deck that seats more than 50, and a gazebo for smokers. The interior features a large central bar, several flat-screen TVs, and seating for 210.

The building, visible from U.S. 131, connects with Baymont Inn, and guests can order room service from the restaurant. “(The exterior) really becomes our billboard, and it shows so nice from the highway,” Van Dyk said.
